Every year, I lead a photography trip to Bromo and Bali, two of Indonesia’s most breathtaking locations. From Bromo’s mystical landscapes to Bali’s rich cultural traditions, this journey offers endless inspiration. It’s more than just capturing images—it’s about experiencing the beauty and spirit of Indonesia. Join me on this unforgettable adventure.

ITINERARY

Aug. 29 – Arrival & Portraits with Bromo Sunset and Horse

  • Arrival at Juanda International Airport, Surabaya (before 11:00 am).

  • Meet and greet before departing for Bromo (approx. 3 hours).

  • Hotel check-in upon arrival in Bromo.

  • Sunset portrait session featuring local talents with Bromo as the backdrop, incorporating the magical sunset light and horse prancing in the mystical landscape.

Aug. 30 – Mystical Bromo and Equestrian Photography

Morning Session:

  • Sunrise shoot at Metigen viewpoint, proceed with portrait of the horseman. And another horse attraction. 

  • An intimate look inside a Tengger house, capturing traditional kitchen scenes and the quiet rhythm of daily village life.

Afternoon Session:

  • Dynamic equestrian shoot with horses galloping through dust clouds, bathed in warm afternoon light.

  • Highlight: Jumping horse action, showcasing strength and grace in motion.

Aug. 31 – Departure from Bromo & Transfer to Bali

  • After breakfast, check out and depart to Juanda International Airport at 7:30 am.

  • Flight to Bali, departure ETD 12:20, ETA 14:50

  • Evening arrival in Bali, transfer to Ubud, hotel check-in, and rest.

Sept.1 –  Cultural Photography

Morning Session:

  • Explore Ulun Petanu, a mystical riverside location with serene waterfalls, mossy rocks, and misty landscapes. A recreated traditional Balinese scene will provide opportunities for storytelling and ethereal portraiture.

Afternoon Session:

  • We will visit the making traditional of Keris /dagger. Here we will shoot the scene from the rituals to the blacksmith process. As well as portrait of the artists

Sep. 2 – Majestic Landscapes & Traditional Performances

Morning Session:

  • Capture sunrise at Kintamani, featuring the majestic volcano and lake.

  • Cultural portrait session with models in traditional Balinese attire, alongside local elders.

Afternoon Session:

  • Editing session

  • At 5:00 pm We will shoot two Fire Dancers: Sanghyang Jaran, a motion  in low light situation

Sept. 3 – Harvest Traditions & Farewell

Morning Session:

  • A nostalgic Balinese harvest scene, with locals in traditional attire carrying freshly harvested paddy grains.

  • This heartwarming session marks the perfect ending to our photography journey.

End of Trip:

  • Return to the hotel for check-out and farewell.

Photography Gear

  • Camera Body: Bring a backup for peace of mind.

  • From wide to telephoto. However, it also really depend on your lens availabilty and style.

  • Light Tripod: Optional, ideal for landscape enthusiasts.

  • Godox trigger. Rarindra will bring flash for collectively used. Optionally you can bring your own
